Brendan Taaffe and Sarah Blair

Brendan Taaffe Sarah Blair

Known foremost for his Irish fiddling, Brendan Taaffe is a multiple threat: on lively fiddle, intricate and driving guitar, on the button accordion and as a singer and songwriter. Lauded for “playing with heart as well as virtuosity,” his music is lively and infectious, his voice warm and inviting. Brendan teams up with Sarah Blair for our September 20, 2009 show. "Sarah Blair is one of Vermont's finest fiddlers - her playing is a rare combination of heart and soul that balances with technique and an intimate knowledge of the culture behind the music." - Robert Resnik of Vermont Public Radio

Run Mountain

Run Mountain

During our annual Harvest Celebration you'll enjoy our delicious food and drink while listening to the sounds of Run Mountain. From rollicking fiddle breakdowns to mountain ballads to hillbilly blues, this energetic old-time string band breathes new life into American roots music. Paula Bradley, Bill Dillof, and Jim Burns are an exciting and engaging ensemble featuring powerful vocals accompanied by banjo, fiddle, guitar, harmonica & ukulele, with flatfoot dancing to boot!   Run Mountain draws their inspiration from rare 78 rpm recordings of the southern "old-time" music of the 1920s and 30s, including artists such as Fiddlin' Powers and Family, Earl Johnson and his Dixie Clodhoppers, Ernest V. Stoneman, Seven Foot Dilly and his Dill Pickles, Leake County Revelers, Mainer's Mountaineers and many others.
