Elderberry Syrup

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups fresh (or frozen Elderberries)

    • If using dried berries- Use 1 cup dried berries : 4 cups water

  • 4 cups water

  • 4 chunks fresh ginger

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 3 whole cloves

  • 1/2 cup raw honey

  • 1/2 cup raw apple cider vinegar

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Bring all ingredients (except apple cider vinegar and honey) to a boil in a saucepan. Simmer until liquid has reduced by about half. (30-45 minutes)

  2. Remove from heat and strain.

  3. Once cooled to about 118 F, add honey and apple cider vinegar.

  4. Store into a glass jar in fridge or pour into ice cubes.
