This position reports directly to Director of Orchard Operations

Job Summary:

Responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the orchard property including construction projects, maintaining existing buildings and mechanical systems. Be responsible for the successful coordination and completion of carpentry and other related activities; which includes meeting project timelines, being on budget, and maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the work schedules of staff under the Manager’s supervision.

  • Attend regularly schedule meetings with Manager of Orchard Operations.

  • Create an anticipated project schedule in advance of project commencement, adjust schedule as needed based on production realities.

  • Verify and confirm material lead times and purchase orders as needed to maintain efficient schedule.

  • Supervise the activities of the carpentry staff and independent subcontractors.

  • Be responsible for the efficient and profitable use of the company’s staff and materials on each project.

  • Responsible for tracking the progress and profitability of the projects under his or her supervision.

  • Maintain an operational inventory of necessary tools, safety equipment, equipment and vehicles to perform specific activities.

Qualifications:

  • The position requires an individual who has a college degree in Construction Management and/or at least five years of related construction work experience.

  • In addition to being an excellent framing and finish carpenter, the individual should understand building mechanical systems and exhibit good judgment, good oral and written communication skills, and strong leadership abilities.

  • The individual shall possess the character qualities of being honest, trustworthy, respectful, and have sound work ethics.

Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (includes ½ hr. unpaid lunch break)
