This position reports directly to Champlain Orchards ownership.

Job Summary:

The Finance Manager will work closely with senior management to fully develop our cost accounting model and establish department specific budgets. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating existing business while also preparing Champlain Orchards for future growth. A thorough knowledge of QuickBooks is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement cost accounting model using QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solutions; must be familiar with tracking and allocating revenue and expenses according to profit centers and business units

  • Set and manage budgets in collaboration with management teams

  • Develop systems for interpreting company’s cash position using routine cash flow analyses

  • Responsible for year-end business planning, tax filings, loan management, weekly payables check run, bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Create monthly, quarterly, yearly financial reports and projects and related materials

  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable, purchasing, and ad-hoc payment and payroll duties as assigned

  • Manage recruitment, training, and supervision of finance staff

Education and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in financial management and accounting

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s Degree in business management/financial administration strongly preferred

  • Experience with audit, legal compliance, corporate taxes/regulation, and budget development highly desired

  • Advanced IT/computer skills, must demonstrate mastery of QuickBooks and proficiency in Microsoft Office software

  • Outstanding communication skills (written and oral) and a high level of organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • A highly-motivated leader and team player with a strong work ethic and sense of integrity

  • Passion for local food movements and sustainable agriculture; food service/agriculture industry experience a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year
