As a Farm Market Assistant, you'll be a key player in weaving the threads of customer relations and operational excellence, helping us connect the bounty of our orchards with customers far and wide.
About This Role
Seasonal | Supports daily operations of the Champlain Orchards and Douglas Farm Markets and Pick Your Own areas, staffs orchard events, aids in cider donut
packaging, and adheres to all food safety regulations.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Interacts with, directs, and helps PYO and FM customers to ensure a positive experience
- Properly stocks, rotates, and displays fruit and merchandise
- Maintains accurate and up to date signage in FM and PYO area
- Answers FM phone calls and responds to or relays messages
- Checks customers out using Square POS system
- Manages daily register operations
- Ensures proper cleaning is completed daily and adheres to all food safety regulations
- Assists in packaging of cider donuts when needed
- Staffs on farm events such as Harvest Fest and Cider Fest
- Prepares for group and school tours
Experience:
- Retail experience a plus, and interest in local agriculture preferred. Will train the right person.
Abilities Required:
- The individual must demonstrate excellent verbal, listening, and communication skills as well as excellent time management and stress management
abilities. - The individual should have personal confidence and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people.
- The individual shall possess the character qualities of being honest, trustworthy, respectful, and have sound work ethics.
- Must be able to lift 40 Pounds
FULL TIME
Distribute products promptly to our customers. Represent the Company in a professional and cost effective manner aiming at increasing profitability and customer satisfaction.
Job Description:
- Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
- Follow route and time schedule
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate delivery vehicle
- Deliver orders to customers on assigned routes
- Maintain ongoing communication with route dispatcher
- Unload goods as per client specifications
- Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs
- Obtain delivery confirmation from each customer
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
Skills and Experience:
- Valid Class CDL Class B or A (preferred)
- Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Delivery Driver
- Clean driving record
- Background check and drug test
- Strong customer service skills
- Possess a positive and professional attitude
- The individual needs to be punctual; and comfortable and willing to work long hours. Be able to lift 50 lbs, and push/pull heavy pallet jacks. Be able to safely operate a delivery truck, fork lift and other operating equipment.
- The individual shall possess the character qualities of being honest, trustworthy, respectful, and have sound work ethics.
